A Cut Above The Rest – Beverly Hills Medical Group

October 20, 2008 · Filed Under BHMG News · Comment

Coming into the facilities of the Beverly Hills Medical Group is much like making a house call on a friend who lives in a bright, spacious bungalow on a quiet street. It’s only a big deal because—as BHMG President and CEO Maria Rebujio and her staff of doctors and nurses promise—your visit will change your life.

The nondescript façade gives way to equally subdued interiors: tall, angled ceilings, generous rooms, and cool corridors accented by small abstract prints. Soft, warm lighting bathes the otherwise pale walls in an amber glow. Muted colors, clean lines and a preponderance of wood in the door frames, furniture and floors give the place the look of an art space instead of a medical facility that specializes in transformations of the body inside and out. Philippines latest to join medical tourism bandwagon

October 18, 2008 · Filed Under BHMG News · Comment

ABU DHABI & MANILA — Philippines is the latest country to join the world medical tourism destination. With pristine white beaches, lush vegetation, rolling hills and tempting volcanic mountains, the country of 7,100 islands certainly has travel appeal, but the real challenge is to offer world-class medical services at competitive prices.

During the International Medical Travel Conference held last month in Manila, the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) announced that it is expecting to raise $40 billion from medical tourism by attracting 780 million patients.

European and American experts in the industry, though, think that the figure is highly ambitious, but also highly necessary to boost the Philippine economy. Read more

MANILA, Philippines – Makati City, acknowledged as the country’s premier financial district, now wants to be known as a health and wellness center. The city launched Friday a program promoting medical tourism.

Mayor Jejomar Binay said the Medical Tourism Makati program aimed to encourage locals, foreigners and overseas Filipino workers to avail of the affordable products and services of the city’s world-class hospitals; spas; cosmetic, dental and eye centers. Inquirer.net

“We are one of the healthiest cities in the land…We have everything it takes to capture this sunrise industry of medical tourism,” Binay said in a press conference. The mayor said he expected medical tourism to increase the city’s revenues that totaled P8.83 billion last year from only P200 million in 1986.

Apart from boasting of procedures like transplants at lower prices, cosmetic surgery will also be marketed as part of the medical-tourism program. More @ Inquirer.net
